Tip Tuesday - What is the first message I should send to a new connection on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Aug 20, 2019

The first thing that I like to do when I connect with somebody is say thank you for connecting with me on LinkedIn. So, even before he connected with me on LinkedIn, my connection request message was, thanks for checking out my profile, would love to get to know you, let's connect on LinkedIn. Thank you for connecting with me on LinkedIn. And it's just gratitude, right, you're just greeting the person.

Tip Tuesday - What is the best time of day to post on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Aug 13, 2019

Well, there are influencers out there that say that the best time of day to post on LinkedIn is 8:30 a.m. Eastern time to 9:30 a.m. Eastern time and that's if you're targeting CEOs and executives. If you're targeting people that are more marketing managers or more mid-level managers, I would say during lunchtime.

I say the best time to post on LinkedIn is whenever you can. Post whenever you're looking at LinkedIn. If you're on LinkedIn, post. Just do it whenever, I don't care if it's 3 a.m. on Sunday, post.

Tip Tuesday - What elements should I include in my headline on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Aug 06, 2019

When you're thinking about your headline on LinkedIn, it's specifically under your name over here, I like including my title, the company that I work for, the most important keyword, basically what we do, and other things that you want people to find you for.

For example, I wanna help hungry entrepreneurs go from frustration to motivation, and I also like including some emojis to really stand out.

The headline should be your title, your company, what your company does, who your company does it for, done, that's it. You don't have a lot of characters to play with in your headline.

Tip Tuesday - What do I do if someone harasses me on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Jul 30, 2019

I get harassed all the time on LinkedIn and there are just trolls. There are people that are trolls. The way that they harass me on LinkedIn is by leaving negative comments on my posts and I really, really, really don't like it. So, I heard an Influencer say that he basically just deletes the comment. He doesn't even engage with them because what they're looking for is attention. That's what they're looking for. So, I think that that's a fine thing to do. I think it's OK to delete a negative comment. I also like blocking a person. So, for example, this guy Robert Stern said something that's super negative, I will click More and then I will just simply either remove the connection or I will block them so I don't see them ever again. Once in a while, you see people that are harassing you, it's OK to block someone on LinkedIn.

Tip Tuesday - How can I make sure I do not get banned from sending connection

tip tuesday Jul 16, 2019

When you're sending connection requests on LinkedIn, there's actually a limit, to how many pending requests you can have at any one given time. So, there are 4,336 people waiting to connect with me, but there are also people that I'm waiting for them to connect with me, to accept my connection. So if you click on Manage all, you click on My Network, and you click on Manage all, you will see both people that you received invitations from, but you'll also see people that you have sent invitations to. And as you could see, I have sent invitations at 2,057 people that I'm waiting for them to accept my connection requests. So I can easily withdraw this by clicking on the Withdraw button over here. So the COO of Goldman Sachs Asset Management, he has not accepted my connection request, so I'm gonna go ahead and withdraw that. And as you can see, there are many people that I haven't accepted yet. The easy way for me to do this is I can just select 100 at a time and press Withdraw. And then...

How to Master your Influence on LinkedIn

evyrgreen Jul 14, 2019

I used to think that the words I used didn't matter, the meaning mattered! Then I struggled for years trying to get people to understand me. I never felt truly heard or understood because I could not convey the meaning I intended.

I HATE to admit that I was wrong, because I really never am, but I begrudgingly realized that words are how you convey meaning (obviously), and therefore words DO matter!

Cut to today: I'm in the shower, where inspiration usually strikes, and I was struck with inspiration to immediately remake our tagline and marketing pyramid for Social Sellin'.

You see, when Joe created the tagline, I believe he did so hastily. We had to get launched, and get going, and we needed something to get us started. So we started with this:

"Learn how to go from an Order Taker to a Rainmaker on LinkedIn in 15 min per day"

I HATED IT! I never ever liked it. First of all, what the heck is an order taker, anyway?! Secondly, this is not at all what we are teaching!

But did I have...

Tip Tuesday - How can I get the attention of a super busy CEO or Influencer on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Jul 09, 2019

If you're looking for the CEO of LinkedIn, and you wanna have a relationship with the CEO of LinkedIn, chances are, through the LinkedIn platform it's gonna be very hard to build an actual relationship with the CEO of LinkedIn because he has almost 10 million followers and gets tons of solicitations. What I like to do is, I like to see who else people are also looking at. I like to find who their assistants are, and I like to email them, contact them, maybe through Twitter, maybe through Facebook, maybe through other platforms where they're not as busy and you can actually get through to them. If you have an influencer who's really, really a celebrity on one platform, chances are, they're not such a big celebrity on another platform, and you can actually access them, or access their assistants through another platform. It's relatively easy to get his email address, so I would say I'd rather email him than send him a message or try to connect with him on LinkedIn.

Tip Tuesday - How can I get ideas for things to post on LinkedIn?

tip tuesday Jul 02, 2019

How can I get ideas for things to post on LinkedIn? I see that you post all the time and I'm wondering where you get this constant flood of never ending ideas for your LinkedIn feed. Is it just because you are an Ideator?

The more you do something, the better you become at it. I happen to be an Ideator because I prioritize ideation and coming up with ideas. I used to have a really hard time coming up with ideas and then I learnt how to brainstorm for content. I learnt that if I want to ideate there are actually three steps to ideate like a pro and I actually wrote an article about it, about how to do this, and for me it's about making sure that I prepare before I write content. So before I did my 15 second motivation videos I came up with a list of 50 of them, 50 different videos by asking myself questions. I first put myself into a brainstorming mode, which means I'm getting ready, I'm creating a structure and I go for volume, and once I brainstorm, which is separate than...

Tip Tuesday - Does it matter if you post to LinkedIn from your phone or from a desktop computer?

tip tuesday Jun 25, 2019

Does it matter if you post to LinkedIn from your phone versus your laptop versus a tablet? Does the exposure of your post change?

I have seen that when I post videos from my phone, the videos get more views than when I'm posting them from my desktop, but I don't know if that's necessarily a fact. It might be based on the video, based on the time of the day. I haven't see a correlation between posting from your phone and posting from your computer. I think that people should mix it up. They should post sometimes from their phone, sometimes from their computer, sometimes from a automation tool like Buffer or like Hootsuite and they should mess around with it and sometimes, I post the same thing to test out and there isn't really much of a difference but I know that when I post from my phone, I'm on the go, and I like posting all the time. My thing is post as often as you can post and you'll get the exposure that you need. So, for me, it's about posting more frequently.
